Why doesn’t pet food have nutrition info on it?

Why doesn’t pet food have nutrition info on it? they have a list of ingrediants, but I would like to see a breakdown of how many calories are some snacks, the amount of protein, fat, etc. just as we have for human food. I want to know if i’m given garbage snacks to my dog. Why don’t companies do this? Read more of this post

What kind of healthy puppy food should my puppy eat?

I have a 6 month old Pomeranian who weighs 10 pounds. He eats his puppy mix but doesn’t really seem fond of it. He really enjoys his Cesar canine cuisine which i give him and eats it instantly but it is too expensive. Any suggestions? I’ve already tried Purina puppy chow mix and pedigree puppy chow mix.

Answer: Even though puppy chow and pedigree are cheaper – they’re expensive if your dog won’t eat it and you end up throwing it away. So, you don’t necessarily have to feed him Cesar’s Canine Cuisine, but there are lots of quality dog foods out there to choose from. Such as Canidae, Wellness, Taste of the Wild, INNOVA, Blue Buffalo, etc. You may have to pay a little more, but your dog will be getting the protein and minerals he needs instead of a bunch of grains and cereals that will leave him unsatisfied and which he may be allergic to. Many dogs have allergies to all the grains in the cheaper dog foods. Buy a quality dog food that he will eat and you’ll be ahead in the long run – both financially and your dog’s health.

Do you buy your pets good healthy pet food?

I’m trying my cat on grain-free products. He keeps throwing up so, I mix it with His old food (9Lives…), like they said to do. When will He get use to the new healthier kind?

Answer: The throwing up could also be from eating too fast or too much in one go. Feed him smaller quantities more often while you do this transition, and thanks for caring enough to find a grain-free product!
