Why do my cats let others eat their food?

There are at least 2 cats coming through the cat flap and eating their food. I have three cats and none of them try to stop them, one of my cats even sleeps close to the food on a chair and does nothing.

Answer: They are SHARING their fruitful bounty!!! Also the other cats have become friends of theirs since they allow them in their territory. I hope their vaccinations are up to snuff if they are coming in contact with outdoor cats.

How to Clean a Parakeets Food and Water Dish?

I have had both of my parakeets for about 5 years and I have had the same food and water dish for that long. I can not currently afford new water dishes at the moment but I will be buying some soon. But in the water dish it has a dark brown stain in the corners all the way across. I give my birds fresh food and water everyday, maybe bird food 2 or 3 days a week depending on how much they eat and water everyday that I can. Would you know any tips on how to clean them and disinfect them?

Answer: You really need to be very careful with birds and small animals when it comes to cleaning up after them. Especially their food and water dishes.

Take a pointed knife and scrape the corners out. Rinse it out really good and fill it. Don’t use any cleaners as this will leave residues that may kill them.

Birds are a beautiful and often joyful pet to have in your house, especially if they’re song birds. Most people don’t take the time to get the truth about their care and wonder why they died.

When you get their new bowels, go over to the book rack and get one that pertains to your specific bird. You may learn something new about them in the process.

I hope you enjoy them for a long long time.

How Can I Get My Birds to Eat Their Food Again?

We ran out of bird food, but they still had a little left in their container. We just bought some more and for some reason the birds are not eating it. Could it be b/c we used a different brand?

Answer: How you can get your birds to eat their food again? Try and get the food their used to and the you can gradually mix in a new kind to make the change. Act quickly because the bird can starve to death. I’ve lost a bird because of this once. Good luck.

How Long Does Open Cat Food Stay Good?

My cat needs special [expensive] canned cat food, like $1.50 per can. She’s very picky and will only eat it if it’s been sitting out for a while. It is a meat-based food.

If I feed her the newly opened wet food around 7am, she won’t touch it until about 3pm. A human obviously wouldn’t want to eat plain meat that’s been left out that long because it would be spoiled.

My question is, is this harmful? Would she still eat it if it was ‘bad’/spoiled or would she know the difference? How long can wet cat food be left out at room temperature without being spoiled? Thanks!

Answer: Open cat food stays good for a while mine has never gone bad just keep it away from splashing water so it doesnt get wet some cats wont eat it like that and dont put it to close to the litter box if some stuff from there gets in it they usually waste their food… and if it is wet foood than all day but no more than that them sometimes flies get in it…the cats are weird some i have none to eat spoild food and some who would act so proper and not eat spoild food wich is probably better…

How Much Canned Cat Food Should I Feed My Cats?

I have two cats. One is a year old, the other seems to be two. I was wondering how much cat food they should get a day. (It is canned cat food)

Answer: First off, if you went by what the manufacturers recommend on cat food cats your cat would be clinically obese. Even the best of foods list the amount to feed as nearly twice what it should be.

Secondly, contrary to all the “expert” comments, canned food is FAR healthier for your cat than wet food and doesn’t lead to all the problems that the “experts” say it does.

Thirdly, here’s a site that tells the TRUTH about why cats NEED canned food – http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?ac…

Fourthly, dry food does NOT clean the teeth http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?ac…

I have four cats and I feed them the smaller cans of food so there’s never any waste. If I use the larger cans then I end up either putting too much on their plates or stick the rest in the fridge where I never remember to take it back out again – so into the trash it goes. My four cats split a small can twice a day and I also feed them dry food, Innova Evo, which is 50% protein and contains zero grain. With your two cats you could just feed them once a day and split one small can. If this is all you’re feeding them then I’d give them each half a can twice a day.
